Copyright and publishing rights

COPYRIGHT AND PUBLISHING RIGHTS

Psychology journal science – practice allows the author (s) to own the copyright and will retain the rights to the publication without restriction.

Papers submitted for publication in the journal do not contain any foreign proprietary material not protected by patent or patent application. The responsibility for the content of the scientific article and for the protection of its own material rests exclusively with the authors and their organizations and is not the responsibility of the editors of the journal Psychology or its editorial staff. The lead author (first / correspondent) is responsible for ensuring that the article has been viewed and approved by all other authors. It is the responsibility of the author to obtain all necessary permissions for copyright, for the use of any copyrighted material in the manuscript prior to submission to the editor.

What are my rights as an author?

It’s important to check the policy of the journal you submit or publish to determine your copyright. Our standard policies allow the following reuse rights:

  • You can do whatever you want with the version of the article you sent to the magazine.
  • Once the article has been accepted for publication, you can post the accepted version of the article on your personal website, on your department’s website, or in your institution’s repository without restriction.
  • You may not post the accepted version of the article in any other repository other than those listed above (ie you may not deposit in the repository of another institution or magazine) until 12 months after the article was published in the journal.
  • You may use the published article for your own teaching needs or to provide it individually to research colleagues, provided that such provision is not for commercial purposes.
  • You can use part of the article published in a book written or published by you at any time after publication in the journal. This does not apply to books in which you contribute a chapter to a book written or edited by someone else.
  • You cannot post the article published on a website or in a repository without the permission of the magazine.
